Description
A centrifugal pump works by creating a centrifugal force to move liquid through the pump, increasing the liquid’s pressure as it moves from suction through the discharge end. A multi-stage centrifugal pump contains two or more impellers in the same pump unit. Ring section pumps, which are a type of multistage centrifugal pump, have multiple stages arranged in tandem inside their casings. As the liquid passes through each stage, the pressure of the liquid increases. This is especially useful for certain applications, including boiler feed systems, municipal fire suppression (think high-rise building sprinklers, for example), amine sour natural gas treatment systems, and so many others.
 

The D series Multistage Ring Section Centrifugal Process Pump is a utility-grade, high-pressure, ring section pump with heavy duty, segmental ring, diffuser design.

 

The pumps in a mineral processing concentrator (plant) can roughly be classified into two groups, Process pumps and Service pumps. A Service pump is any pump that provides a service to the process. A Process pump is one whose function is part of the process. The pump doing this type of job will be directly responsible for maintaining the continuous operation of the process.

 

These two different groups will be required to work in a variety of environments and handle various substances. This means their design and construction must change to compensate for adverse operating conditions. This could be anything from pumping Acidic or abrasive material to having to work underwater. Many of the design modifications will be limited to the material that the pump is constructed from. Such is the case in the pumping requirements of acidic chemicals and abrasive ores.

 

Structure Design

Horizontal, radially split, ring section pump with radial impellers, single or double flow entry, multistage. The stages are sealed against each other by O rings or by metallic sealing faces and fastened by tie bolts.
